1 April Quiet Dinner
I make it back to P.I. in less than 10 minutes. I wring out my clothes, again. I wait until 18:10 (6:10 PM) to go down to dinner. The only thing that looks appetizing is a Chicken Bacon Caesar Salad and a Doom Bar, of course. When it finally comes I am surprised by the small portion. The ribbon cut lettuce (maybe not romaine) is tiny and the chicken, bacon and Parmesan flakes are spare, but with the two slices of focaccia, it is good.
I finish, the ale took longer than the salad, and go up to the room around 19:15 (7:15 PM). I journal and send some texts: to a friend who loves English Football, Chris, my brother, Matt, and his wife Jody and their friend, Megan from Spokane WA. When we saw Megan in Palm Springs in as January I told them all about my plans to visit Wrexham and Minera. Megan being a big fan of WTW thought I should email the show and tell them what I was doing. I sent the same txt to them all, “BEST FAKKING DAY EVER. Scored a free ticket to the Wrexham game and Wrexham won!” Never heard back from the Spokane crew, but Chris was super jealous--loved the whole story. Some of my clothes are dry, but I wring out the others more—this could take weeks. Finally watched U,K, TV—Magpie Murders and a channel called Dave.
